Training & Member Engagement Coordinator

Cecilia Montesdeoca started with DRC as an Oil and Gas Field Organizer as part of her Master’s program through Illinois State in 2016.  Upon graduating she joined the DRC team as the Training & Member Engagement Coordinator. Cecilia is from Bloomington, Illinois and graduated from Illinois State with a bachelors in cultural anthropology and community health education and a masters in cultural anthropology and applied community and economic development.

Cecilia served one year of AmeriCorps with the Illinois Public Health Association at a county health department and another year as a Team Leader with AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) based in Denver, Colorado. With NCCC she led a team of young adults to complete multiple environmental stewardship projects across the southwest. She also has experience in community organizing from her time working as a project coordinator for a disaster recovery/community development non-profit in Peru and interned with U.S. Senator Tom Harkin where she worked with the Senate Committee of Health Education, Labor and Pensions. She enjoys traveling, photography, hiking, reading, listening to podcasts and spending time outside, preferably near a river, lake or ocean.
