This afternoon, DRC’s Senate Bill 2287 is scheduled to be voted on in the full senate. Senate bill # 2287 will reduce the time oil companies are allowed to flare from the (1) year in current law to 90 days.
This 90 day allowance will reduce pollution and waste while still allowing ample time for companies to construct the necessary infrastructure to safely develop a well. SB 2287 also closes a loop hole in current law that allows companies to flare if capturing the gas is “economically infeasible.” PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATOR NOW!
